A simulation of SM-2, not a prediction of your memory. Again resets repetitions; Hard is a successful but difficult recall.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a starting ease factor; 2.5 is the standard baseline.
  2. Enter a sequence or append ratings with the buttons.
  3. Compare interval growth and the reset after an Again rating.
  4. Export the simulation; it illustrates SM-2, not an individual prediction.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hard count as a lapse?

No. Here Hard maps to quality 3, so repetitions continue. Again maps to 1 and resets repetitions.

Why do the first intervals equal 1 and 6 days?

These are the first two successful intervals in the SM-2 algorithm. Later intervals multiply the prior interval by the previous ease.

Is this the same as every flashcard app?

No. Apps may use different schedulers, learning steps, fuzz and retention targets. This is a transparent SM-2 simulation.

Can I change the starting ease?

Yes. The selector changes the initial ease; the model never lowers ease below 1.3.
